The Business Side of Music With Tom Sabella and Traci Root Recorded at Records on The Wall Studios Nashville, TN Music by Mike Pachelli Producer Bradley Raines This podcast is part of Page2 Radio Network Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got” —Janis Joplin Watch out! They’re circling. Slowly. Closer. And they look hungry! The sharks, that is, the scam-meisters that prey upon naive, ambitious artists who are eager to be published. It’s often said, and pretty much undisputable, if you swim with sharks you’re bound to get bitten. But what are you supposed to do? Stay out of the water? Just like in football, in the music biz the key to having a good defense is to provide a strong offense. That means arming yourself with knowledge and strengthening the muscles of your business mind. You must work on your “plays” (so to speak), to ensure a strong “running game” that enables you to trample the sharks and other bottom feeders. Business savvy can take years. Remember this – if it seems too good to be true – then it is NOT true!! Let’s talk about a few particulars… Books.tomsabella.com Blog.tomsabella.com traciroot.com page2radio.com Send Questions or comments to podcast@page2management.com Comments[2] |
